What the report says
0-20%: Unlikely - Lacks credible sources21-40%: Questionable - Some concerns remain41-60%: Plausible - Reasonable evidence61-80%: Probable - Strong evidence81-100%: Highly Likely - Multiple reliable sources85%Highly LikelyGTA 6 is finally launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in a little over two months, but the wait for PC players will be longer, as Rockstar Games has yet to announce when this version of the game will launch. In the recent past, it took roughly one year for games like GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 to launch on PC following their PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases, but there's been some ramblings that the current console market conditions which are forcing the prices of consoles up years after their original launch may push Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive to release the sixth entry in the series in less than one year."I do think they'll push the PC version up," said VGC's Andy Robinson during the latest episode of the VGC Podcast during a wider discussion on the impact the high price of gaming hardware is having on the entire industry.
"There's a bit of noise about that. That perhaps the PC version might arrive sooner than some people might expect just because of everything that's going on."Although VGC has an excellent track record, we have to take the possibility of GTA 6 releasing on PC in less than one year after its PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launch with a grain of salt. Still, this possibility makes a lot of financial sense for a few reasons. For starters, there are many who do not own a current-generation console, but still have a PC that can play games, and with technologies like NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR, the game could very well run decently even on somewhat dated machines.
In addition, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive could time the launch of GTA 6 to coincide with the release of the next iteration of GTA Online, which would benefit from increased exposure if it came shortly after a PC launch that will likely be as successful as the console launch.Still, those who want to experience GTA 6 at its best, and don't want to wait for the inevitable PC version, will only have the option of playing the game on PlayStation 5 Pro. While this version of the game has yet to be fully detailed, a recent leak suggests that Rockstar Games may stick with the base model's 30 FPS and deliver a 4K experience.About the author: Francesco De Meo has been covering video games and technology since 2012, starting his career at small outlets like Gamersyndrome and GeekSnack.
