Revealed by Annapurna Interactive and developer Graceful Decay, this intriguing new adventure will let players manipulate multiple realities as they explore a forgotten world filled with mysteries, monsters and plenty of head-scratching puzzles.Uncanyon is currently scheduled to launch in 2027 on Xbox, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. While there’s still plenty we don’t know about the game, its central idea of changing the reality around you already gives it a rather interesting hook.At A GlanceGame: UncanyonRelease: 2027Platforms: Xbox, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Steam and Epic)Developer: Graceful DecayPublisher: Annapurna InteractiveGenre: Puzzle-first adventureA World Caught Between RealitiesUncanyon drops players into a strange land that exists somewhere between multiple “unparallel” realities.
It was once an abundant place, but has since become forgotten, leaving behind ancient ruins, curious technology and secrets waiting to be uncovered. You take control of Sonia, a young woman who unexpectedly finds herself in this unusual world. Her journey will see her gradually uncover the mysteries surrounding Uncanyon, while also discovering that she may have a much greater role to play in its future. The setting certainly looks like it will be one of the game’s biggest attractions. Hills breathe, trees shift colour and the landscape itself refuses to remain entirely static, creating a world that feels just a little bit removed from anything familiar. And then there are those realities. The Puzzle Is Bigger Than the RoomThe standout idea behind Uncanyon is the ability to manipulate the different realities that overlap its world. As Sonia explores, she’ll discover devices made from a mysterious material known as fragmentstone.

Key details
Activating these allows her to blend different realities into the environment around her, effectively changing what exists in front of her without actually leaving the world. That opens up plenty of possibilities for puzzle solving. A path that doesn’t exist in one reality could appear in another, while an obstacle or threat might be removed by shifting the environment. Stone, shadows and other elements can be manipulated, turning the world itself into the puzzle.Ruins, Traps And Lost SecretsUncanyon isn’t simply about reaching the end of a linear series of puzzles, either. Its world is filled with ancient ruins and forgotten locations containing traps, riddles and hidden treasures.Sonia takes on the role of the Finder of Lost Things, collecting records, equipment and fragmentstone devices along the way.
These discoveries aren’t just there to help with the next puzzle, either, as they can also reveal more about what happened to this mysterious land. And further, the adventure will take Sonia through five semi-open regions, each offering its own environments, secrets and challenges.A New Adventure from the Team Behind MaquetteUncanyon is being developed by Graceful Decay, the independent studio behind the BAFTA-nominated Maquette. The team’s latest project appears to be taking the studio’s interest in unusual environments and puzzle-driven storytelling into considerably more expansive territory. For Annapurna Interactive, meanwhile, Uncanyon joins a catalogue that has become rather synonymous with distinctive and often unconventional adventures.
For many, the Annapurna name will ensure that Uncanyon demands a look. Uncanyon Is Coming in 2027There is still a while to wait before Uncanyon arrives, with the game currently targeting 2027 for release. It will launch on Xbox, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with PC players able to pick it up through Steam and the Epic Games Store. For now, there’s no shortage of questions surrounding Sonia, the strange land she’s fallen into and exactly how far Uncanyon’s reality-bending mechanics will go.
