What’s more, two of these games arrive as special editions. 2019’s Resident Evil 2 Remake consists of the Deluxe Edition. This includes all previously released DLC. You get the base game plus costumes for Leon and Claire, a deluxe weapon, and the ability to swap the soundtrack with the 1998 original.
AdvertisementMeanwhile, 2023’s Resident Evil 4 Remake arrives as the Gold Edition. This includes all previously released DLC as well. Here, you get costumes, extra weapons, and treasure maps. But the big draw comes in the form of the Separate Ways DLC. This story DLC is a roughly five hour campaign, telling the events of the story from the perspective of Ada Wong.
Not only do you get all of this DLC, but Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 are two of the best games in the series. The former introduces Leon and Claire to the RE universe as they arrive in Raccoon City as the zombie outbreak kicks off. Meanwhile, the latter focuses on Leon’s harrowing journey through Spain to rescue the President’s daughter.
Resident Evil 3 Remake just includes the base game. While it’s arguably not as good as the other two games coming to Switch 2, it’s not a terrible game. It’s hands-down the shortest of the three games. It clocks in at around five hours.
