Nintendo has announced plans to release a The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary EditionNintendo Switch 2 console.
“A specially designed Nintendo Switch 2 for The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary is on the way. It has a design that features the Triforce,” producer Hidemaro Fujibayashi explained in today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. “There will also be a specially designed Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, as well as a carrying case.”
There will also be a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller: The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition and a Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case: The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition and Screen Protector available to purchase.
To be exclusive to the official Nintendo Store, you can purchase a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller: The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition + Display Stand bundle, too.
The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 console will be released worldwide on 29 October 2026, a week earlier than The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 5 November 2026.
