It was recently rumored that there would be a special Zelda-theme Nintendo Switch 2 console to coincide with the launch fo The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time later this year; particularly convincing rumors that came replete with photos of packaging. Well, it turns out those rumors were indeed true, as Nintendo announced earlier today the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition system. Take a look:
This gorgeous version of the Switch 2 hardware comes emblazoned with a geometric Triforce pattern on the dock as well as the body of the console, while the Joy-Con are a delightful green and also fitted with Triforce designs. What’s more, besides the console, Nintendo is also releasing a Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. There’s also a display stand for the pad (which will be exclusive to Nintendo New York and San Francisco, as well as the Nintendo Store online) and a carrying case to keep an eye out for. The Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition system, Pro Controller, and carrying case will all go on sale October 29, 2026. The console has an MSRP of $519.99, so keep that in mind if you’re chomping at the bit for one.
