Free update now available for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

A free update* to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available now! This update features several enhancements to the game when playing on Nintendo Switch 2.

Play with eight players on one screen

With one Nintendo Switch 2 console and enough Joy-Con, Joy-Con 2 or Pro Controllers, you can now race in split-screen with up to eight people in local Multiplayer mode**.

It's ideal for when you've got a big group of friends together and want to play some Mario Kart!

CameraPlay support

By connecting a compatible USB-C camera*** (sold separately) to your Nintendo Switch 2, you can now enjoy CameraPlay in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe both online via GameChat**** and in local Multiplayer mode*****.

That means when playing with friends, you'll be able to see their faces in the game on-screen. Seeing the look on your friends' faces as you overtake them can definitely add to the racing experience!

Enhanced visuals and shorter loading times

With support for the Nintendo Switch 2 display, and high-resolution TVs, you can now play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with enhanced visuals******. Loading times are also improved, so you can get to the action more quickly.
